Description
Corrosion cast of the third and fourth ventricles of the brain. This specimen was made at the University of Melbourne in 1967, by Dr Daryl Nye (1939-2013). Nye was a neurosurgeon associated with the Anatomy Department in the 1960s. During this time Nye published several papers on the vascular anatomy of the human liver. Corrosion casts are made by injecting a liquid resin into the internal cavities of an organ and then destroying the tissue after the resin has set.
