Corrosion cast of internal vascular networks of the liver, made at the University of Melbourne in 1968, by Dr. D. H. Nye and Mr. K. J. Hardy. Dr Daryl Nye (1939-2013) was a neurosurgeon associated with the Anatomy Department in the 1960s. During this time Nye published several papers on the vascular anatomy of the human liver. Prof. Kenneth Hardy is now an emeritus professor in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Corrosion casts are made by injecting a liquid resin into the internal cavities of an organ and then destroying the tissue after the resin has set.
