Description
Snakebite instrument with a percusso punctuator at one end, and a lancet in a threaded stowage at the other. Plated metal construction. Made by Mayer and Meltzer.

History of Object

Included in contents of Dr. James Jamieson's medical bag (accession number MHM00074), who practised in Warrnambool and Melbourne, later lecturing in Obstetrics at Melbourne University. Jamieson became President of the Medical Society of Victoria in 1886. He died in 1916.
