Description
Dudgeon type sphygmograph used for recording the pulse at the wrist., clockwork drive for paper tape. Made by Arnold and Sons, London. Serial Number 2516. Stored in black case with purple satin lining.

History of Object

Included in contents of Dr. James Jamieson's medical bag (accession number MHM00074), who practised in Warrnambool and Melbourne, later lecturing in Obstetrics at Melbourne University. Jamieson became President of the Medical Society of Victoria in 1886. He died in 1916.
