Three lidded jars labelled 'Ex Cathol', 'Ex Gramin' and 'S Nitr: Dep:'
Ex Cathol comprises many ingredients - universally used as a purgative; Ex Gramin derives from the root of couch grass - believed to open obstructions of the liver, spleen, ureter and womb; Sal Nitram Depuratum abbreviates to S Nitr: Dep:, otherwise known as saltpetre - used as a gargle and diuretic.
