Description
Dr Charles Travers Mackin (1817-1884) arrived in Melbourne 1852, and spent twelve months at the goldfields in Forest Creek, and in Ballarat, executing many watercolours as well as panning for gold. He then settled and practised medicine in Geelong. Mackin was the grandson of Dr William Turton (1762-1835).
