Certificate for Diploma of Obstetrics from the Lying-In Hospital, Dublin to Charles Travers Mackin, with suspended seal in tin.

Dr Charles Travers Mackin (1817-1884) arrived in Melbourne in 1852. He lived in Goldfields-Forrest Creek near Bendigo, Ballarat for 12 months, executing many watercolours as well as panning for gold. He settled and practiced in Geelong.

Mackin was the grandson of Dr William Turton (1762-1835).
