Frederic Wood Jones (1879-1954) (first from left) with Sir Edward (Ted) Ford (1902-1986), centre, and Sir Sydney Sunderland (1910-1993).

Frederic Wood Jones (1879-1954), anatomist, naturalist and anthropologist, Head of anatomy at the University of Melbourne in 1930-1937.
Ford was appointed Stewart lecturer in anatomy at the university in 1933, after serving as a resident medical officer at the Melbourne Hospital. From 1934 to 1936 he was a senior lecturer in anatomy and histology.
Sydney Sunderland was greatly influenced by the professor of anatomy Frederic Wood Jones. Immediately on graduation from Melbourne University, Sunderland was offered a Senior Lectureship in Anatomy.
