Description
Brass name plate with black indented lettering, previously owned by Dr Eric Neville Harle Gandevia (1891-1958) and possibly attached to a door or wall due to holes drilled at each corner. It reads "Dr. E. Gandevia."

University of Melbourne Bachelor of Surgery Degree was awarded to Dr. Eric Neville Harle Gandevia on 17 September 1917.
On the 15th of February 1918 appointed Honorary Captain in the "Military Forces of the Defence Force of the Commonwealth".
Served in the Australian Imperial Force World War I, as Captain A.A.M.C Australian Army Medical Corps, Military and health. Sailed: Captain 30 Nov 1918 - 28 Dec 1919
Medical work at Sutton Veny Camp and A.I.F.H.Q. London. Demob. 28.12.19.
On rerun to Australia continued work as Medical Practitioner in Private Practice in Alexandra, Victoria, Australia from 1921, and Abbotsford, Victoria, Australia from 31 Jan 1939.
Assistant Anaesthetist 26 Feb 1930 at Melbourne Hospital.
On 28 April 1938, Diploma in Anaesthetics was awarded to Dr. Eric Neville Harle Gandevia by both the Royal College of Physicians of London and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
