Description
"Laweng - Lemonwood leaves and bark are boiled up and we wash in it to make us strong again. Also good for sores and rashes."The leaves that Phyllis has depicted in this painting are a useful plant used for bush medicine. The thin eucalypt leaves are picked and crushed, sometimes boiled up in water and then rubbed over the body, particularly the chest and neck area. Prescribed for muscle pain and breathing difficulties these leaves are used "like the bush Vicks vapor rub".
