Full length portrait of Professor Berry in front of a building, the Department of Pathology building (now known as the Elisabeth Murdoch Building),the University of Melbourne.The building was constructed in 1886, known initially as the new Medical building. This building housed the Anatomy Department from its foundation in 1906 until 1923 when it moved to the purpose-built Anatomy Building. One of four photographs found in the certificate booklet of James Riddell Bell who was probably the grandfather of the husband of the donor, Dr Lois Bell.
Dr Berry was the Head of Anatomy at the University of Melbourne from 1906 until 1929, and oversaw the expansion of the program. He was also an advocate of phrenology and eugenics.
