Aluminium pessary introducer

Description
Introducer for watch spring and soft rubber ring pessaries. The introducer has flat shaft and is shaped at one end to accommodate the pessary, the other end forms a hook like handle. A malleable rubber donut-shaped pessary was squeezed to fit into the platform or introducer, ready for insertion into vagina. Pessaries were used to treat a prolapsed uterus.

Belonged to Dr Bertram Milne Sutherland.
