Description
Nurses Certificate issued to Alice Blondell Tapp by the Midwifery Department of the Women's Hospital. The certificate reads: "Women’s Hospital / Melbourne January 22nd 1910 / This is to certify that Alice Blondell Tapp has / received Instruction in the Special work of the Midwifery /Departments of this Hospital for a period / of six (6) months and, after due examination, was found to be competent to discharge the duties of a / Midwifery Nurse."



It is signed by the Hospital President, Honorary Secretary, Resident Medical Officer and Examiners and Alice Blondell Tapp.



The certificate and image of the hospital are on cream paper and are mounted and presented in a brown leather folder with gold embossed borders. The text is printed in black ink and signatures are also in black ink. The title is embossed on gold on the front of the folder: "NURSE’S /CERTIFICATE / WOMEN’S HOSPITAL / GYNAECOLOGY & MIDWIFERY DEPARTMENT". Produced by the Modern Printing C.
