Glove powder shaker

Date
1969
Description
Stainless steel shaker with a screw top lid. Before disposable surgical gloves were introduced, gloves had to be washed and autoclaved before re-use. Once washed and dried talcum powder was shaken into each glove and they were placed individually in pockets of a fabric sleeve before autoclaving. This was done until the new hospital was occupied in 1969. Engraved: "RWH WD2". The following details are stamped in base of shaker: "SILVER GLO / STAINLESS PRODUCT".
