Description
Cotton flour bag (John Darling and Son, Eclipse Flour Melbourne) that has been open out and bearing: "Dr S.L Townsend" and two different addresses.

The first address in blue/purple ink is: "Dr S L. Townsend / Commonwealth Bank / Australia / Strand / WC2 / England”, however this address has been crossed out with horizontal brown ink lines. The other address in purple and blue ink is: "Dr S.L. Townsend / 8 Manor Road / Twickenham / Middlesex / England / From M.C Townsend / Hampton / VIC. Cloths such as this were frequently used for wrapping parcels being sent from Australia to England during WWII (and into the 1960s).
