"Little Trimmer" circumcision instrument

Description
Instrument used to assist with circumcision. Stamped on base of instrument: "LITTLE / TRIMMER / 1.2 C". The method of use is as follows: Unscrew large screw to release bell. Bell sits on tip of penis inside prepuce. Pull prepuce up & through hole to trap prepuce skin. Reassemble, & tighten screw to prepuce and cut foreskin loose.



The following instructions on paper accompanied item A2003_99_119 regarding use of the Little Trimmer

1. Loosen screw to lift flat end of arm (A)

2. Pull arm (A) back (to left, above) to release removable post (P)

3. Drop out post

4. Dilate prepuce (foreskin) and insert Bell (B) through prepuce onto the glans of the penis.

5. Thread post back up through hole in base of Little Trimmer with foreskin in view on top of base.

6. Replace post into socket of arm & push arm into indentation on base.

7. Wind down screw. This causes sudden but sure pain as skin of prepuce is squeezed together, becoming ischaemic

8. With scalpel cut around and separate excess skin of prepuce.

9. Unscrew and gently remove penis.

10. Gently retract cut edge below onto shaft of penis.

11. Wind narrow strip of gauze over cut area proximal to glans.

12. Cover penis with thinned out cotton wool and impregnate dressing with Friar’s Balsam and leave for 4 days.
