Description
Simpson's craniotomy forceps, (see 'Surgical Instruments Appliances and Hospital Equipment, A Reference List by Allen and Hanburys LTD, London' c.1937, pg.480). Ebony handled instrument separates at articulation for two positions. Maker's mark "Skidmore Sheffield" stamped on outer handle. Long, heavy forceps with slotted fenestrated blades in complementary shapes with inner serration. Handle is ridged and hilted in ebony. Significant rust pitting along entire instrument.
