The certificate reads: "Women’s Hospital / Melbourne January 22nd 1908 / This is to certify that Miss Alice M Ingram has / received Instruction in the Special work of the Gynaecological / and Midwifery Departments of this Hospital for a period / of ten (10) months and, after due examination, was found to be competent to / discharge the duties of a Gynaecological and Midwifery / Nurse."

It is signed by the Hospital President, Honorary Secretary, Resident Medical Officer and Examiners and Alice Ingram.

The certificate and images of the hospital are on cream paper and are mounted and presented in a brown leather folder with gold embossed borders. The text is printed in black ink and signatures are also in black ink. The title is embossed on gold on the front of the folder: "NURSE’S /CERTIFICATE / WOMEN’S HOSPITAL / GYNAECOLOGY & MIDWIFERY DEPARTMENT". Produced by the Modern Printing C.
