Printed certificate. The certificate reads: "Women’s Hospital / Midwifery Department / Melbourne July 15th 1918. / This is to certify / that Florence Holloway has received Instruction in the / Special Work of the Midwifery Department of this Hospital for a period of / six months and, after due examination, was found to be competent / to discharge the duties of an Obstetrical Nurse."

It is signed by the President Annie Brenan, Honorary Secretary G L Davies, Secretary J G Butler, Examiners D McLean and J Leon Jona and Matron A J Capner. Not signed by the nurse.

The certificate has black and gold printed text, a gold and black decorative border; it is printed on cream paper. Names and signatures are in black and blue ink.
