The certificate reads: "Women’s Hospital / Melbourne / This is to Certify that Annie M. Francis / a Trainee of the Children’s Hospital, served as a Probationer / Nurse in the Surgical Department of the Women’s Hospital for a period / of Six Months, from 8.2.29 to 7.8.29 / and that she carried out her duties to the satisfaction of the Committee / and Medical Staff." It is signed by the Secretary J G Butler, President Mary G Alston and Matron M E McDonald. Dated 7.8 1929.
The certificate has a decorative indigo border, printed indigo text with names and signatures in blue and black ink.
