Tracy family Coat of Arms

Description
Framed (wood) original watercolour on paper of the Tracy family Coat of Arms. The motto "Memoria in aeterna" translates as: 'In everlasting remembrance'.

There is no information about the background of this item. Some research was undertaken to try and discover details and origins of the Tracy family coat of arms. The framed work here loosely corresponds to a branch of the Tracy family in Ireland viewed at the following website 5 December 2017: http://www.traceyclann.com/files/Irish%20Tracey%20Arms.htm. The coat of arms appear at the top of an engraving by Johannes Kip included in Atkyns, Sir R. (1712) 'The Ancient and Present State of Gloucestershire'. It has a similar design for the shield elements which includes the escallops in two of the quarters and the three mullets in the two others.
