Thomas Splint

Description
A traction splint most commonly used for fractures of the femur, invented by Welsh surgeon Hugh Owen Thomas (1834 - 1891). The leather ring went around the hip and the other end could be connected to a traction device. This splint is very small and was presumably used on infants.
