Description
A collection of documents about John Iliffe, a Melbourne based dentist during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Documents include a biography on Iliffe, a copy of Iliffe's last Will and Testament, an article written by Atkinson regarding dental history in Victoria that mentions John Iliffe, and several correspondence letters between Atkinson and The Australian Bicentennial Authority regarding a nomination for Iliffe to be included in the 1988 Celebration of Australia's Bicentenary of '200 Unsung Heroes and Heroines'. Iliffe had been an active member in the Dental profession, often involved in efforts to attain organisational and educational reforms during his time. He was also a major contributor to the formation of many dental organisations such as the Odontological Society and Dental association.
