Description
Very similar to object in Museum of Health Care at Kingston: Wooden folding portable dental chair (a); seat back has black leather-covered headrest at top, five support poles in middle; red leather-covered seat with round metal studs along border; footrest attached to seat with a leather covering, with floral fabric underneath; chair rests against slope of triangle-shaped base, height is adjusted via metal handle on left side with wooden knob; turning the knob turns pole at top of base with white fabric string wound around it then going down into bottom of chair, allowing the seat to move up and down; metal support goes around footrest and is bolted onto either side of chair seat; metal support attached to base hooks underneath seat to keep it flat; two metal supports make an X shape at back of base; metal supports attach armrests to chair seat.
