A large leather-bound volume authored by Ira Warren M.D. (Massachusetts). The spine reads in gold text "WARREN'S HOUSEHOLD PHYSICIAN / FOR PHYSICIANS FAMILIES MARINERS MINERS".
Within the front cover is a bookplate reading "THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE / MEDICAL HISTORY UNIT / PRESENTED BY / THE LIBRARY OF BARRIE THOMPSON / FEBRUARY 2003"
Within the first few pages, Barrie Thompson has adhered newspaper clippings and articles eg. "A remedy for that Dread-Disease Small-Pox", "Kerosene Cure for Diptheria" "How to Cure Influenze - the Use of Eucalyptus Oil (April 26 1892)" and "Cancer and Vaccination"
