The image on the badge's recto is of a skull and cross-bones atop a cartouche, the logo of the University of Melbourne Medical Students' Society (UMMSS). On the medal's verso there is an impression of the number "80" (key tag number), along with the manufacturer's branding: "Stokes & Sons".
