Description
University of Melbourne crest key tag, featuring the Goddess Nike, four stars and the motto "Postera Crescam Laude". On the medal's verso there is an impression of the number "2419" (key tag number), along with the manufacturer's branding: "Stokes & Sons / MELB".
Taken from a poem by Horace written around 23 BCE, the university's motto encapsulates the aspiration to ‘grow in the esteem of future generations’, and has been affiliated with the university since 1861.
