Description
A3 blown-up reproduction of early artist impressions of the new building for the Dental School of the University of Melbourne and the Dental Hospital of Melbourne December 1955, on the site based at Elizabeth Street, Parkville. These reproductions are taken from an article of the December1955 issue of the Australian Journal of Dentistry, p. 404.
Fig.1 is reproduced from the architect’s drawing (the office of Frank Heath) of an aerial view of the building as it would appear viewing it from Elizabeth St and when looking towards the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Fig. 2 is the Haymarket site as it was before demolition of existing walls or buildings taking place and as it was when Parliament passed legislation reserving it for the school and hospital.
