Description
Plaster cast of a human partial mandible from Cro-Magnon, an upper paleolithic fossil site in southwestern France. This site, discovered in 1868, yielded fossils of anatomically modern humans that have been dated to 27,680 years before present. These casts were bought by the Anatomy Museum in 1909 to use as teaching specimens in classes on human anatomy and evolution.
