Description
Award to certify Dr Edward Woodall (Ted) Gault (1903-1982) was awarded a Half Blue for Rowing. In 1937, after completing his MD, MS and F.R.A.C.S., Dr Gault went to Northern India to work at Azamgarh Hospital. In 1942 he left Azamgarh and accepted the Chair of Pathology at Vellore, a small medical school affiliated with the University of Madras. In 1962, Dr Edward Gault returned to Australia and became Professor of Pathology at the Royal College of Surgeons. In his later years, Dr Gault worked at the Austin Hospital and began a history of the hospital which was published in 1982.
The second of three children of Dr Edward Leslie Gault (1863-1954), and brother of Dr Adelaide Gertrude Gault (1899-1977).
