18 glass process plates of mandibles and 3 photo prints of mandible #84. Stored in a brown cardboard box.

Part of a collection of objects from Dr. William Adam, relating to his thesis for a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne School of Dental Science in 1940, in which his research on jaws and teeth of 56 Tasmanian Aboriginal skulls are recorded.

Dr William Adam (1894-1073) graduated from the University of Melbourne, Bachelor of Dental Science in 1915. He was President of the Victorian branch of the Australian Dental Association in 1934, and received a Doctor of Dental Science, University of Melbourne, in 1940.
Published a paper, 'The Keilor fossil skull; palate and upper dental arch' in Memoirs of the National Museum, Melbourne, 1943. Honorary dental staff member, Alfred Hospital, 1946.
