Twenty slides of Dental Therapy students and Dental Assistants treating child patients at Dental Therapy School 448 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.

The Dental Therapy School building located at 448 St Kilda Road Melbourne was opened in 1976. Under the auspice of the Victorian Department of Health, the ground floor housed the Department of Human Services.
The building had a 60 chair dental clinic on the first floor in which dental therapy students trained. Children were brought in by bus from local schools for treatment by 2nd year students under the supervision of dentist demonstrators to ensure skills were developed in treating children, fillings and injections for LA.
Upon graduation of The Diploma of Applied Science (Dental Therapy), successful students are qualified to be a licensed school Dental Therapist employed by the Public Service of Victoria providing dental treatment for children in schools throughout the State under the supervision of Dentists.
