Mounted sepia photograph of the members attending the British Medical Associaiton Congress in Montreal, Canada in 1898. This photograph is an original copy of the photographer's montage of small circular or square portrait photographs, as well as an aerial view of the city, placed together on a painted background. Underneath the photograph is a hand-written inscription, " - British Medical Association - Montreal. Can. 1898." The photography studio was William Norman and Son. On reverse, written, "L23".

History of Object

This item was originally collected by the British Medical Association (which later became the Victorian Branch of the Australian Medical Association). The A.M.A. donated its historical collection of documents and artifacts to the University of Melbourne's Medical History Museum in 1994.
