Invalid feeding cup, white

Date
Circa 1900-1930
Description
Medium-sized fine white ceramic feeding cup, glazed, and with tall narrow spout, and handle positioned to side. Cup stands on a well-defined foot, and the upper curved edged surface is dominated by a large scarlet Maltese cross, outlined in brown. Gold paint, now largely worn away from use, has decorated the sides of the handle, the front and aperture of the spout, and the perimeter sides of the handle, the front and aperture of the spout, and the perimeter of the cup. The red cross suggests hospital use.
