Nursing sister's veil

Description
White veil of the type worn by nursing sisters up until circa 1963. It is comprised of a square of white organdy, with a spoke stitched 4 cm border, folded into a triangle and fastened around the head with the points hanging downwards at the back.

The veil was worn by C. Murphy whilst working as a receptionist for her husband Dr Luke Murphy in his Collins Street, Melbourne practice.
