Description
A colour reproduction after the original painting of the same name by Hans Holbein in the collection of the Royal College of Surgeons of London, England. Henry VIII is seated, holding a sword and Charter, surrounded by members of the company of barber surgeons.

The original work was commissioned to commemorate the grant of a royal charter to the Company of Barbers and the Guild of Surgeons on their merger in 1540.
