Chisel-end dental scaler

Date
1760-1800
Description
Teeth-cleaning use. Head angled at about 45 degrees. Part of a series of eight instruments. The instruments have not been identified from existing catalogues but are similar to illustrations in various texts. They probably pre date gold and amalgam and therefore would have been used on tin, lead and gutta percha.
