Lower wisdoms extracting forceps

Maker
Claudius Ash & Sons (estab. Circa 1820, closed 1905)
Date
Circa 1895
Description
Forceps with beaks at right angles to lap joint. Could be used on either side of the mouth. This meant that a left or right handed operator had to be ambidextrous or change position from front to back of patient. Clear advantage with operating under a general anesthetic as right to left instruments had to be changed as well as repositioned.
