Partial lower denture

Maker
The Australian College of Dentistry
Date
Circa 1950
Description
A fabricated part lower stress-breaking denture replacing the posteriors with clasps and flexible arms on abutment teeth. The denture was made by a 4th- or 5th-year student at the Australian College of Dentistry. This type of denture was a technique exercise carried out by all students. It required considerable skill to do reasonably well and involved much time, but was of little real value. This and similar exercises were removed from the 'course requirements' by Professor Henry Forman Atkinson.
