Partial upper denture

Maker
Eric Wilfred Fish (b.1894, d.1974)
Date
1939-1940
Description
A partial upper denture that replaces the left and right teeth 1 and 2. The denture has wrought wire clasps on the upper left and right 5 and 6. The anterior teeth are made of plastic, possibly Kallodent. The owner was a patient of Sir Wilfred Fish, a London practitioner with a surgery in Harley Street, London, whose patients included Sir Winston Churchill. It was prepared on a cast made from a sectional compound impression, Fish's favourite technique at that time. The clasps are very detailed.
