Coloured hand plugger

Description
Double ended with a green, eight sided (octagonal), handle. One of a set of six pluggers, which includes Dental Museum Collection items 1096 to 1102, each with a different coloured handle made from a type of plastic. Set stored in a fitted leatherette box with two clasps.

Hand pluggers were generally positioned and struck by a special mallet. Apprentices were trained in striking when complex restorations were undertaken.
