Reverse contra angled plugger
Typical but angle in reverse direction to Dental Museum Collection item 461. Has polished ebony handle and serrated end. Probably made in the late 1700s. Part of a set of eight instruments. The instruments have not been identified from existing catalogues but are similar to illustrations in various texts. They probably pre date gold and amalgam and therefore would have been used on tin, lead and gutta percha.
