Date
Circa 1915
Description
Vulcanite finishers were used in the finishing of vulcanite or plastic plates when all work was done by hand, except for the final polishing which was done with a foot treadle lathe. Electricity and rotaform cutters (burs) and stones saw the end of much of this handwork. This example has a thin concave shaped blade with thin edges.
